Toadie the bus: and the Last of the Lino
We have had very little to do with the internet for over a week now. The earthquake repairs to the house have taken over our living room which means they have to disconnect the modem incase of and damage to it. So, last weeks blogs will happen this week.
Sorry.
This week (last week) I pulled up most of the lino (linoleum).

There is still the bit around the drivers seat.

There is a piece of tin at the bottom of the walls that curves inward on to the floor that has to go or I wont be able to have any furniture flush against the wall.

I pulled up one section of it and found the exo-skeleton of a weta (native ugly bug), which I think is cool and am going to keep!

Not sure what I’m going to do with it yet, maybe suspend it in resin…..?
Toadie the Bus: Emptied.
We have had 2 storms and lots of rain lately. Aswell as 2 sharp aftershocks to remind us that things can change rapidly, and without warning.
But, today is beautiful!
Toadie has been emptied of the things we put in there for storage,

And the old handrail removed.

And alot of the old broken linoleum has been pulled up.

Thank you Kirsten Dierksen!
Toadie will be much smaller than this bus, but I loved watching this thing all the way though, just the same.
The weather here is filthy, and suppose to stay that way for quite some time.
Watching this made me smile. =).
Lot’s of bad weather lately. I’ve been whistfully looking at completed housebusses on the net….
And this one apartment is 90 square feet.
This tiny house is 89 square foot.
This whole thing is cool, but the idea of using cushions as storage is definitely something I can put to good use!
Toadies Roof
I have been delaying buying the materials I need to start Toadies over-haul.
Why?
Toadies rof needs to be raised so I can at lease stand up inside. Which means a section needs about 20cm (8inches) needs to formed just under the existing roof.

And, I have never fibreglassed anything!!!
It is not a medium I have ever had anything to do with. EVER!
I have looked it up on the internet and from what I’ve seen (courtesy of the University of Youtube) it doesn’t look too difficult. BUT, this is toadies roof we’re talking about. I need to make sure of the work I do on him and I currently lack the confidence.
…… It is building though……. =).
